August 17 marked the beginning of Korou Foundation’s journey into financial literacy in Imphal.
In collaboration with Ya_All Northeast, Korou hosted its first Financial Literacy Workshop at Ya_All Space, Kwakeithel Bazaar. Held exclusively for members of the Ya_All community, the session created a safe and thoughtful space to talk about money—openly and without judgment. Rather than focusing on numbers or technical terms, the conversation explored what money truly represents in our lives: fear, choices, responsibility, and freedom. For many participants, this was the first time they had ever spoken about finances in such an honest and personal way.
The presence of young people who showed up, stayed engaged, asked questions, and reflected together was powerful. Their willingness to begin a conversation that is often avoided reaffirmed why Korou exists—to build clarity, confidence, and understanding around money.
What started as a single workshop became a shared moment of learning and courage. This was not just a session—it was a beginning.
Korou looks forward to creating many more spaces like this, where curiosity is welcomed, honesty is valued, and financial confidence begins by simply showing up.
